On the basis of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a platform should be created, which would become the center of the strategic vision of practical implementation of equal opportunities for women and men working in the law enforcement system. This was announced today, November 16, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tetiana Kovalchuk with representatives of UN Women.

Currently, there is a network of gender advisers, managers responsible for gender policy implementation and contact persons in the internal affairs system. Their aim is to contribute to ensuring the principle of equal opportunities through the integration of the gender perspective into the activities of the departments. This was announced today, November 9, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tatyana Kovalchuk during a meeting of the Working Group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women. Peace. Security.”

On October 22-23, the Advisor to the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on gender issues held informational working meetings on gender policy implementation with the heads of the components of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. The development of gender competence of law enforcement officers is an obligation to the world community, colleagues, and most importantly - the society in whose interests they serve.

This was announced today, October 9, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tetiana Kovalchuk during the opening of the forum “Gender Policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: Equal Opportunities for Everyone”.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of the Interior today, September 27, during a meeting with NATO representatives.

Today, September 14, under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tetiana Kovalchuk, a training on gender equality was held for the top leaders of the internal affairs system. The event was supported by the EU Advisory Mission and the Swedish Folke Bernadotte Academy.

This was announced today, on September 13, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tetiana Kovalchuk during a meeting with the Counsellor of the EU Advisory Mission on Gender Issues Agata Zhimanska and the Head of the Department of Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 of the Folke Academy Bernadotte Gabriela Ella Roy.

Today, July 12, Deputy Minister of the Interior Tatyana Kovalchuk met with former Canadian Minister for Multiculturalism and the Status of Women, the current Special Representative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Gender Issues Heidi Fry.

Yesterday, May 16, Deputy Minister of the Interior Tatiana Kovalchuk met with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security Claire Hutchinson.

Today, April 25, a meeting of the working group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held, which is working on the settlement of terminology for regulatory acts in the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, as well as in the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention and Countering Domestic Violence”.
