“The development of a uniform agreed terminology in the field of combating gender-based violence is urgent for the implementation of effective mechanisms in the work of law enforcement agencies. It is important for us to introduce the concepts of “gender”, “gender-based violence” and “gender discrimination” into legislation. At the same time, it is important to distinguish between the concepts of “gender” and “gender”, otherwise it is a substitution of concepts,” said Assistant Head of the National Police Andriy Tkachev.

The participants of the working group discussed the proposals submitted by all representatives and agreed on certain definitions and concepts that will be included in the legal acts in the Criminal and Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, as well as in the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention and Countering Domestic Violence Relating to Gender Violence”.
