With the participation of the adviser of the Minister of Internal Affairs on gender policy in the regional departments of the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, the State Border Service of Ukraine and in the military unit 3057 of the National Guard of Ukraine, meetings were held on the implementation of the principle of equal rights and opportunities for women and men in everyday activities.

The Ukrainian Association of Law Enforcement Representatives (UAPPO) is a non-governmental organization that unites women and men from different law enforcement agencies.

On Friday, February 22, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tatiana Kovalchuk, 11 meeting of the working group on law enforcement issues was held at the Main Office of the Consultative Mission of the European Union, devoted to the topic of introducing the gender component in the security sector.

Today, November 28, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tatiana Kovalchuk met with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, the Embassy of Norway in Ukraine and UN Women in Ukraine.

About this today, November 22, Deputy Minister Tetiana Kovalchuk said at the seminar “Ensuring gender parity in the public service. The event was held within the framework of the working panel “Governance and Public Administration Reform” on the basis of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service.

On the basis of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a platform should be created, which would become the center of the strategic vision of practical implementation of equal opportunities for women and men working in the law enforcement system. Currently, there is a network of gender advisers, managers responsible for gender policy implementation and contact persons in the internal affairs system. Their aim is to contribute to ensuring the principle of equal opportunities through the integration of the gender perspective into the activities of the departments. This was announced today, November 9, by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tatyana Kovalchuk during a meeting of the Working Group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women. Peace. Security.”

On October 22-23, the Advisor to the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on gender issues held informational working meetings on gender policy implementation with the heads of the components of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. The development of gender competence of law enforcement officers is an obligation to the world community, colleagues, and most importantly - the society in whose interests they serve.
