On October 22-23, the Advisor to the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on gender issues held informational working meetings on gender policy implementation with the heads of the components of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. The development of gender competence of law enforcement officers is an obligation to the world community, colleagues, and most importantly - the society in whose interests they serve.

Viktoriia Arnautova introduced the leadership of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Odessa region with innovations in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at the integration of gender equality among law enforcement officers. Explaining the logic of the gender approach, the expert observed that the social characteristics of what it means to be a woman and a man are not constant, they change and evolve according to changes in society. Ukrainians, in particular, experienced such sharp changes in 2014, when, in the current conditions, the number of women in the security sector began to be observed.

The current trends of gender equality policy in the security sector of Ukraine and the world were discussed in the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region. Rescue Service specialists understood the basic concepts of gender theory, familiarized themselves with international norms and national legal acts on ensuring gender parity, and considered Ukraine's place in the world ranking according to the global gender gap index. It was noted the importance of gender policy implementation for the system of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as a qualitative and effective response to the various needs of each member of society and the engine of the reform of the department.

In the Southern Territorial Administration of the NGU, representatives of the command and personnel of the National Guard of the Southern OTO, the 34th Separate Battalion and the 11th Brigade of the OGP took part in the gender dialogue. At the meeting, it was noted that for a qualitative understanding of the concept of gender and gender politics, it is necessary to start with oneself. It is the knowledge of these basics that makes it possible to effectively build partnerships. And this means that each of us can develop in our own direction, thereby not harming, but on the contrary, helping relations in work teams and in the family. Viktoriia Volodymyrivna also stressed that in the National Guard the institutional implementation of gender policy is almost at the highest level than in other power structures of the state.

The management staff of the Southern and Regional Maritime Administration has also mastered the knowledge of ensuring compliance with the principles of gender equality using real-life examples and official activities. Problematic issues were considered in specific units protecting the state border on land, on ships on boats of the Maritime Guard, readiness and possibility to recruit women to the flight composition of the air squadron.” We have many achievements, which we generously share, we develop gender policy both internal and state. This is what makes it possible to adequately and promptly respond to current challenges, to introduce innovations that will promote gender equality in our structure.” The heads of regional departments informed about the existing ratio of the percentage of men and women in entrusted units, about ways to solve the issues of ensuring equal opportunities for men and women in the service, namely, the issue of arranging the appropriate infrastructure of the places of deployment.

During a working meeting with representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff and cadets of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, the Counsellor of the Minister focused on the key issues of gender integration in higher educational institutions. The myths about gender politics and the elements of hybrid warfare that exist now in our information space were presented to the attention of those present. Everyone has the right to master the most suitable specialty and receive the appropriate position, and the state, in response, should open all possibilities for this, without prohibitions and restrictions,” said Victoria Arnautova.
