Galina Mandra is one of the first graduates of an inclusive driver training institution. He works within the framework of the project “Driving schools for persons with disabilities” on the basis of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.

Training in the driving school and passing exams took place according to a standard algorithm. Initially, the woman took a theoretical course of study and successfully passed the exam. Then she mastered driving skills on a specialized car with manual control, completed the “B” category driver training course and successfully passed the practical exam at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Serhiy Lisak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, congratulated the driver on the completion of the training and personally presented the driver's license.

The graduate has the first disability group. A woman has many daily affairs that require mobility. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Galina, along with her 81-year-old mother, was forced to leave her native Kharkiv. A new home was found in Dnipro. The woman dreamed of learning how to drive a car and feel the freedom of movement. Now she sets new ambitious tasks and breaks all stereotypes about obstacles on the way to the dream of driving a car for people with musculoskeletal disorders.

The project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is implemented within the framework of the National Strategy for the creation of barrier-free space under the initiative of First Lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenska “Without Barriers”. Detailed information about the project and how to join the training can be found here.
