The meeting was also attended by Helena Akiwumi, Deputy Director of the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine, and gender policy and standardization advisors.

Head of the NATO Delegation to Ukraine Alexander Vinnikov noted that the partners highly appreciated the positive changes that took place in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2019, in particular in the direction of Euro-Atlantic integration.

In her turn, the Deputy Minister shared plans for the future and presented the project for the creation of the NATO Center for the Study of Excellence and Standardization. The Center will become an advanced analytical unit and a communication platform for joint activities, which will ensure the process of development of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration and implementation of Euro-Atlantic standards.

The meeting also discussed the renewal of the Partnership Goals package for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in 2020, namely, in the direction of developing strategic communications and carrying out stabilization actions of law enforcement nature.

A separate issue for discussion was the inclusion of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine in the list of higher military educational institutions involved in cooperation with NATO's Defence Education Enhancement Program (DEEP). The parties agreed to carry out a series of measures in the near future and to intensify joint efforts in the further implementation of reforms.
