This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs during a press briefing on the conduct of the All-Ukrainian information campaign “16 Days Against Violence”.

The annual “16 Days Against Violence” campaign began yesterday. For many years, it has united the entire world community to make the world free from domestic violence.

“On November 25, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the National Police and our partners, launched a new phase of a large-scale information campaign. This is a continuation of our previous consistent steps towards raising awareness of citizens about domestic violence,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

“This year, compared to last year, police received 54% more reports and reports of domestic violence. 27% more protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up, 5 times more urgent prohibitory orders were issued and 22% more violators were registered,” the Deputy Minister noted.

According to her, this is evidence not only of changing approaches in the fight against domestic violence, but also of continuous training, involvement of different units of the National Police in counteracting and preventing domestic violence.

“Such statistics are really evidence of the willingness of society today to speak openly on the topic of domestic violence,” said Ekaterina Pavlichenko.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Deputy Minister invited to visit the exposition on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv.

“I am sure that the exhibition of objects “The thing in the room...”, which was presented yesterday on our initiative, is already gaining popularity,” Kateryna Pavlichenko shared.

The exhibition “The Thing in the Tim...” will last until December 10 inclusive. For those who can not visit the exhibition, there is an opportunity to get acquainted with it in online format.

“Today, our common priorities in the area of preventing and combating domestic violence should remain the formation of zero tolerance for all its manifestations, creating visibility of domestic violence, ensuring the inevitability of punishment for offenders and the creation of effective mechanisms that will help to report such cases without fear.” - added Ekaterina Pavlichenko.

Recall that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has created the #ДійПротиНасильства chatbot in Viber and Telegram messengers, which accumulates all the information about domestic violence and how to protect yourself from it.

There has also been an increase in the number of mobile response groups for domestic violence cases. Today there are 54 of them across the country.
