KHNU counteracts illicit drug trafficking on the Internet and on the streets

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and their Illicit Trafficking, the author's team of Telegram chatbot “Stopnarkotik” (@StopDrugsBot) under the leadership of the Dean of Faculty No. 4 (Cyberpolice) of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Vyacheslav Markov took part in painting on objects Kharkov inscriptions advertising the addresses of drug stores that are used by attackers for the illegal sale of drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues using the Internet.

Cadets and staff of Faculty No. 4 took part in the deactivation of addresses of Internet drug stores located on the facades of buildings in the most densely populated Saltivsky district of Kharkiv around the dormitories of universities where student youth live.

The purpose of the event is to prevent the involvement of city residents in drug addiction. Such events with the participation of representatives of the university have been held in Kharkiv for several years and are positively perceived by residents.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine pays great attention to combating drug crime. The Ministry established the Department for ensuring the formation of public policy in the field of combating drug crime, with which Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs actively cooperates and participates in joint activities from the first days of its work.

To date, users of the chat bot “StopNarkotik” helped block 1226 email addresses of “drug stores” in the Telegram messenger.

From history. On June 26, 1987, the International Conference on the Fight against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking adopted a Comprehensive Plan of Action. On December 7, 1987, the United Nations General Assembly established the International Day to Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as a sign of its determination to strengthen work to create an international community free from drug abuse.
