In Kryvyi Rih, police detained a criminal group for manufacturing and selling drugs on the territory of the city

The group consisted of seven locals aged 20 to 53. Through bookmarks and through the Internet, they sold narcotic substances throughout the city.

“As part of the city's work in the field of combating drug crime during the day of July 4, the police conducted a total of more than forty sanctioned searches and detained 10 people. According to the results of the searches, drug-containing drugs, methamphetamine, cannabis, opium, traumatic pistol, cartridges, equipment and cash were seized,” Taras Volikov, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region said during the briefing.

“As for the members of the criminal group that manufactured and sold narcotic substances in Kryvyi Rih, six of them today have chosen a preventive measure of detention, another has chosen a measure of preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest. It was previously established that monthly members of the group received illegal profit in the amount of about one and a half million hryvnias, - Taras Volikov noted.

The crime group consisted of four local men and three women aged between 20 and 53. Four of them have previously been convicted of similar crimes. It was established that the powers were clearly divided between the attackers themselves: some were in charge of manufacturing, the dispatcher coordinated the orders, and others were directly engaged in sales through bookmarks and through the Internet.

On July 4, police officers of the Drug Crime Control Department, special officers of the KORD, special purpose police regiment and investigators of the Pokrovsky police department conducted sanctioned searches at the place of residence and in cars of members of the criminal group. As a result of the investigation, methadone, cannabis, acetylated opium, anhydride, mobile phones, bank cards and money obtained from drug sales were seized.

Currently, law enforcement officers continue to work aimed at establishing the location and documenting the criminal activities of other members of the criminal group on the territory of the city.

On the same day, employees of the Kryvyi Rih Police Department in one of the pharmacies in the Metallurgical District conducted a court-sanctioned search. During the event, 2000 pills, 20 ampoules, which include pseudoephedrine and almost 22 thousand hryvnias obtained from the sale of drugs, were seized.

“Law enforcement officers documented the fact of the sale by the pharmacist of pills, which include pseudoephedrine, without the appropriate permission. Currently, a 50-year-old woman has been detained under the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved, — said the deputy chief of police of Dnipropetrovsk region.

During the investigation, it was established that the pharmacy employees sold drugs containing drugs and precursors in violation of the law for a long time.

On the same day, law enforcement officers of the Ternivka police department with the participation of the special purpose police regiment conducted a number of searches in the households of townspeople suspected of selling drugs.

During the event, cannabis, a powdered substance similar to methamphetamine, cartridges, mobile phones and money were seized. 40- and 57-year-old drug users were detained under the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Also, officers of the Saksagan police department during the investigation of criminal proceedings conducted a search at the place of residence of a 30-year-old man. As a result, the traumatic pistol and the rounds to it were seized. The seized objects and substances are sent for examination. After the results of which the issue of opening criminal proceedings under Art will be resolved. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to these facts, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Art. 307 (sale of narcotic substances) and Part 1 of Art. 320 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the established rules for the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors).

“According to the order of the head of the Main Directorate of the NP in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the special unit KORD, the special police regiment, the National Guard of Ukraine and the entire personnel of the Kryvyi Rih operational zone were involved in this special operation. At present, the work continues,” Taras Volikov noted.
