The Ministry of Internal Affairs will initiate the introduction of electronic circulation of drug-containing substances for therapeutic purposes
Today, February 30, representatives of the Department for ensuring the formation of state policy in the field of combating drug crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a working meeting with specialists of the Ministry of Health, the National Police, the State Border Service, the Administration of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The parties discussed the possibility of introducing electronic circulation of narcotic substances, which would make it possible to track the movement of drugs from the manufacturer to the persons who need them within the framework of treatment.
To minimize the threats that arise in the field of manufacture, movement, appointment and dispensing of drug-containing medicinal products, the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the creation of a working subgroup. It will develop mechanisms for the implementation of electronic control (creation of a database) to overcome this problem.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksandr Gogilashvili stressed the importance of making quick and balanced decisions on the settlement of the sale of narcotic drugs under prescription.
“Unfortunately, the lack of control over the movement of drug-containing medical drugs has led to an increase in the circulation of drugs on the streets of the country,” said Oleksandr Gogilashvili.
In turn, the head of the Department for ensuring the formation of state policy in the field of combating drug crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anna Kruglova noted that the mechanism of control over narcotic drugs should be created in the near future.
