Elena Zelenska: “Driving schools for people with disabilities” is a project implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the initiative “Without barriers”
There are now six such driving schools in Ukraine. Recently, their list was replenished by a driving school on the basis of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.
About fifty trainees are trained in driving schools, seven of them are our defenders, for most of them this is “retraining” after injuries.
“It is not only for those who have lost mobility due to the war who really need such driving schools. At the end of last year, the Ministry of Social Policy already registered more than 50 thousand people with disabilities who need cars,” said First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
In every region of Ukraine, unfortunately, the number of people with disabilities is growing. All of them have the right to free movement and convenience in everyday life.
