Mental Health Tutor
The psychological support of employees and personnel of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is significantly strengthened, in particular through the implementation of the Mental tutor project. This was discussed at a meeting on topical areas of psychological support in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for 2024.
This concept was presented by the Head of the Department of Psychological Support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Kostyuk. He stressed that the psychologists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs perform a multidimensional volume of work in different directions. According to the initiative, priorities are such as psychological training, accompaniment and recovery.
Also, Andriy Kostyuk spoke in more detail about the project “Mental tutor”, which involves the creation of a separate category of mentors who will coordinate the work of psychologists.
“In order for psychologists to effectively perform their work, we have such a proposal to single out mental health mentors in a separate category — “Mental tutors”, they will coordinate the work between psychologists. In our system, everything should be unified, so psychologists should also speak one language,” said the head of the Department of Psychological Support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Kostiuk.
In each proposal of each central executive body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, the focus is on the employee, the employee who protects our state at the forefront. The system of psychological support of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is transformed and strengthened in response to its actual demands and needs.
“Today, the issues of mental health of our citizens, and especially employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, are among the key ones on the agenda of the country's leadership and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On November 28, at the meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council, the concept of psychological support and the project “Mental tutor” were presented. The concept updated approaches to enhance psychological support for personnel and their family members. The functioning of psychological rehabilitation complexes is envisaged, and in the frontline areas stabilization psychological points. At the same time, it is planned to carry out appropriate training, restoration and support of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”, - said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko, addressing those present.
Recall, on December 7, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine headed by the State Secretary of the Department Inna Yashchuk held a meeting on the implementation of the concept of psychological support in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the presentation of the project “Mental tutor”.
