The Ministry of Internal Affairs announces a “special operation” to search and seize hidden assets of the aggressor and its beneficiaries

The exchange of opinions, information and proposals for further cooperation took place within the framework of a working meeting established on the basis of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Interdepartmental Office on the identification of assets of the Russian Federation and its residents.

The search, detection and seizure of explicit and hidden assets was identified as one of the priorities taken into account by the Minister of the Interior when deciding on the creation of the Office.

Head of the Office — Advisor to the Minister Bodrov Yehor justified the need for the participation of each representative in the Office: “The Office includes representatives of various services, departments, in particular border guards, migration, justice, financial monitoring, national police, judges and we are always open to attracting specialists and experts in Necessary industries. After all, for the efficiency of work, it is important to establish a systematic exchange of information and experience between different structures, since it is difficult to detect hidden assets of residents or citizens of another state, and even more difficult to prove the connection of these assets with the relevant persons. Only by joint efforts can we achieve a positive result.”

According to the Deputy Head of the Office of the People's Deputy of Ukraine Galina Yanchenko, who is the author of the draft law on the imposition of sanctions against citizens of the Russian Federation, optimization of work in this direction is necessary, since it will help not only to establish contact with Russian beneficiaries, but also to collect evidence base for further arrest and conviction confiscation of hidden assets.

“All mechanisms and actions are important to work in this direction. For example, in May, we created a special chatbot (@RuAssetsBot), where anyone can send information about the assets of sanctioned Russians. Thanks to the information received from there, we were able to identify a legal entity in the Zhytomyr region, the owner of which is a Belarusian municipal enterprise,” said MP of Ukraine Galina Yanchenko.

The Office recommended a series of measures aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of the departments involved in the specified direction, the implementation of which should be carried out on a systematic basis until the victory in the war is complete and the damage caused is compensated.
