In order to comply with the requirements of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Principles of State Regulatory Policy in the Field of Economic Activity”, we inform you about the publication on August 31, 2020 on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (www.mvs.gov.ua) of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine (on the Implementation of Legislation) and determination of the list of administrative services provided by the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine)” (hereinafter referred to as the draft law).
The draft law is designed to harmonize categories of vehicles, introduce gradual access to relevant categories of vehicles in the interests of road safety, standardize the minimum and maximum age for persons to drive certain categories of vehicles, establish new validity periods of driver's licenses for different categories of vehicles, and further the possibility of extending their validity period, as well as increasing the level of protection of the driver's license against fakes by introducing it as an integral part microarray. Also, the draft law provides for determining an exhaustive list of administrative services provided by service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as establishing the amount of cost for their provision and terms. In addition, the implementation of the draft law will settle the current issue of registration of tractors, self-propelled chassis, self-propelled agricultural, road construction and reclamation machines, other equipment and issuance of tractor-driver licenses.
The implementation of the draft law will create a proper regulatory framework for the further implementation of Directive 2006/126/EC and ensure maximum approximation of national legislation to those of the European Union.
