Suspension and cancellation of the license in connection with the application of sanctions to the licensees

In the context of a full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, sanctions are an effective tool for deterring the aggressor, forcing him to peace and restoring stability.

The second and twelfth parts of Article 16 of the Law of Ukraine “On Licensing of Business Activities” provide that the license may be suspended or a decision to cancel the license may be made in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions”.

Since January 31, 2024, the State Sanctions Register (hereinafter referred to as the Register) (https://drs.nsdc.gov.ua/) is functioning in Ukraine, an information and communication system that provides free public access to up-to-date and reliable information about all subjects against whom Ukrainian restrictive measures have been applied. The register is available in Ukrainian and English.

The data in the Registry are open and publicly available. Sources of information for the Register are relevant decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, put into effect by decrees of the President of Ukraine, as well as court decisions on sanctions.

On the website it is possible to obtain in electronic form an extract with relevant information about the sanctioning entities and the duration of the sanctions applied to them.
