During the year, the Chernivtsi police registered fifty criminal proceedings for falsifying documents on COVID safety

The pre-trial investigation of 10 such proceedings concerning the commission of 26 offences has now been completed. Law enforcement officers continue to carry out measures to identify and document the facts of falsification of vaccination documents and negative results of PCR tests for COVID-19.

So far, 13 police officers have already reported on suspicion of committing offenses under Article 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In addition, investigators and police investigators completed the investigation of 10 criminal proceedings on the commission of 26 criminal offenses and sent the indictments to the court.

During the investigation of the proceedings of this category, law enforcement officers also documented the activities of a criminal group of 3 people, which was engaged in the manufacture and sale of forged documents regarding the absence of coronavirus infection SARS-CoV-2. The defendants were searched, in the process of which physical evidence was discovered and seized, indicating their illegal activities.

Police warn citizens against falsifying documents about Covid-safety. According to Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, for forgery and sale of such documents, liability in the form of a fine, arrest, restriction or imprisonment is provided. For using a false document, the guilty person faces a fine of up to 850 hryvnias, up to 6 months of arrest or up to 2 years of restriction of liberty.
