In Kyiv, the investigators of the National Police reported on the suspicion of the scheme for the production of fake COVID certificates to the defendants
The cost of one fake International Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate was $300. Suspects face up to 5 years in prison.
In Kyiv, investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine together with SBU operatives and under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office exposed a scheme for the production and subsequent sale of international certificates of vaccination against coronavirus disease “Covid-19” without actually passing vaccination.
Investigators found that a 45-year-old man and his 24-year-old roommate were looking for individuals who wanted to purchase fake COVID certificates without getting vaccinated. Later, they attracted employees of one of the capital's medical institutions to the scheme.
Health workers ensured the execution of a declaration on the choice of a doctor from a specified clinic and entered inaccurate data into the electronic health system regarding the vaccination of the person. After that, an international certificate of vaccination against coronavirus disease was compiled with inaccurate data on the person's passage of the vaccination course.
The cost of such a fake COVID certificate was $300.
At present, the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police informed the defendants of the scheme about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps), Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face imprisonment for up to five years.
The pre-trial investigation continues. Investigators carry out further procedural measures to identify all persons accused of illegal activity and notify them of suspicion.
