In Kryvyi Rih, police officers exposed a man in the manufacture and storage of drugs: the value of the seized is more than 8 million hryvnias
In one of the villages of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a 25-year-old man equipped a dryer for drug-containing plants on the territory of a former farm. The drug dealer arranged the same warehouse and the packing shop of the finished goods in a rented warehouse. In total, the police seized 40 kg of cannabis.
The operatives of the Drug Crime Control Department in the Dnipropetrovsk region of the DBN (UBN) received information about the production of cannabis in the building of a former farm in the village of Novopodolskoye. During the inspection, police officers found a 25-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih on the farm.
As it turned out, the man arranged a place in the attic in one of the abandoned agricultural buildings of the former farm, where he dried hemp plants in a suspended state. In addition, to store and pack the already finished goods, the attacker rented a warehouse, which was located in Kryvyi Rih.
According to operational information, he distributed the dried and prepared for sale drug product through postal items throughout Ukraine.
On August 16, employees of UBN DBN together with investigators of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Kryvyi Rih Northern District Prosecutor's Office conducted an urgent search at the place of drying hemp and at the place of its packaging. As a result, about 30 kg of cannabis, 10 kg of cannabis “cones” and a traumatic gun with signs of recycling were seized.
At the prices of the “black” market, the value of the withdrawn reaches more than 8 million hryvnias.
On this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated, provided for in Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.
Currently, police officers are identifying other persons involved in illegal activities, as well as finding out the ways of obtaining cannabis plants.
