Metropolitan police seized drugs and psychotropic drugs from Kyiv resident for more than 2 million UAH
The attacker accepted orders through the telegram channel and subsequently sold prohibited substances to customers by mail. Investigators detained the defendant as he was on his way with another “product” to the department. From now on, the violator faces up to ten years in prison with confiscation of property.
As part of the implementation of operational information, the employees of the Podolsk Police Department together with the employees of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes on Svobody Avenue detained a 26-year-old local resident on suspicion of selling drugs.
According to the investigator of the Podolsk Police Department Sayat Yenokyan, the attacker was detained with packages of cannabis while he was on his way to the post office to send another “order” to customers:
“We detained the defendant in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and conducted an urgent search in his home. In the apartment we found and seized narcotic substances, probably amphetamine, ecstasy, mephedrone, PVP salts, LSD brands, hashish, cocaine and other psychotropic drugs. At the prices of the “black” market, the value of the withdrawn is more than 2,000,000 hryvnias”.
In agreement with the Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office, the detainee was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal acquisition and storage of particularly dangerous narcotic drugs for the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a precautionary measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.
Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying other persons involved in the specified illegal activity.
