The capital's law enforcement officers exposed a Kyiv resident who sold fake COVID certificates
The attacker entered false information about the vaccination into the database of the electronic health system, and then issued the relevant certificates. The attacker estimated his “services” at 4,000 hryvnias. The offender faces up to six years in prison.
Investigators of the Darnytsky Police Department together with the employees of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the city. Kyiv and Kyiv region and under the procedural guidance of the district prosecutor's office exposed the illegal activities of a man who manufactured and sold fake COVID certificates. A 32-year-old local resident was helped by a medical worker from one of the Kiev hospitals.
The police found out that the attacker found customers through social networks and offered to purchase an international Covid certificate without going through the vaccination procedure. He was helped by a family doctor who entered inaccurate information into the database of the electronic health system and issued a Covid certificate. In this way, this document was reflected in the application “ACTION”, which made it possible to travel abroad. Law enforcement found that customers paid 4,000 hryvnias for the “service” and received fake certificates by mail.
As a result of the authorized searches, the police discovered and seized physical evidence: drafts, bank cards, telephones, vaccination certificates, a laptop and other documents confirming the illegal activities of the defendants.
Investigators of the Darnitsky Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps and part 3 of Art. 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - unauthorized actions with information that is processed in electronic computers (computers), automated systems, computer networks or stored on the media of such information, committed by a person who has the right to access it.
Currently, under the procedural guidance of the district prosecutor's office, law enforcement officers prepare reports for offenders on suspicion of committing a crime. They face up to six years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
