In Rivne region, police officers exposed a group of persons for the production of fictitious COVID documentation
The attackers were engaged in falsifying COVID documentation for further use, in particular, for traveling abroad. Negative PCR tests and international vaccination certificates were produced. The price of “fakes” is from 1500 hryvnia to 200 euros.
Today, November 24, under the operational support of employees of the department of the migration service in Rivne region, cyber police under the procedural leadership of the Zdolbuniv District Prosecutor's Office, investigators of VP No. 2 (M. Kostopil) of Rivne RUP conducted five sanctioned searches at the place of residence and in cars of criminal proceedings defendants in the territory of Rivne and Volyn regions.
During the investigative actions, investigators and operatives discovered and seized 94 counterfeit international COVID-19 vaccination certificates that were to be marketed, negative PCR test forms, rough accounting, wet seals of medical institutions and doctors, printing equipment. On computer equipment, they found 100 certificates, which they still managed to print and transfer to “customers”. In addition, law enforcement officers seized funds, in particular in different currencies totaling more than 155 thousand hryvnias, obtained by criminal means.
The pre-trial investigation into the fact of falsification of documents within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine continues. The police establish the circumstances of the crime committed. Further procedural measures are underway to notify the five defendants of the suspicion and to choose preventive measures for them.
In addition, law enforcement officers identify other persons involved in a criminal offense.
