In Odesa region, the organizer and members of the criminal group will be tried for the distribution of drugs and psychotropics
Cocaine, MDMA, amphetamine and cannabis were all sold by the attackers using five of their own virtual drug stores. On a daily basis, drug groups earned more than 50 thousand hryvnias from their sale. Now the four defendants can face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
At the beginning of April, the operatives of the department for combating drug crime in the Odessa region stopped the criminal activity of a group of persons who established a drug business in the region.
Law enforcement officers established that the organizer was a 32-year-old native of Transcarpathia. The woman has previously been convicted of human trafficking and attempted robbery. She involved three more people - a 23-year-old Odessa resident and two residents of Odessa and Belgorod-Dnestrovsky districts aged 23 and 25. Each of them had its own responsibilities: control over the distribution of drugs and psychotropics, the functioning of online stores, the formation of a client base and the maintenance of the so-called “accounting”.
In particular, five Internet shops operated simultaneously through which the attackers sold cocaine, amphetamine, cannabis and MDMA.
The sale of drugs took place both through “bookmarks” and during personal meetings with potential clients. Dealers received money in cash or on bank cards. Daily profit from such “stores” reached more than 50 thousand hryvnias.
UBN operatives documented the activities of intruders together with investigators of the investigative department of the police of the region. The procedural leadership of the investigation was carried out by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
During the authorized searches in the premises of the defendants and their vehicles, law enforcement officers seized packaged cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA. Packaging materials, mobile phones, bank cards and money obtained from the sale of drugs and psychotropics were also seized.
Yesterday, September 29, the indictment against four members of the OZG was sent by police investigators to the Primorsky District Court of Odessa. The accused incriminates the commission of a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For a crime, offenders may face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
