Investigators of Rivne district police department sent to court criminal proceedings on the fact of forgery and sale of certificates with a negative result on COVID-19.
Another criminal proceeding for more than 100 episodes is in the pre-trial investigation stage.
Recall that the criminal activities of two “specialists” were documented under the operational support of the SBU department in Rivne region in May this year.
During the pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the police established that the 28-year-old Equator, in preliminary collusion with an 18-year-old resident of the city of Berezne, produced and sold fake certificates of negative PCR test results for the absence of coronavirus disease for crossing the border, and thus avoiding the mandatory 14-day self-isolation.
The elder, who carried out passenger transportation outside Ukraine, found customers whose data he transferred to the younger accomplice. He, in turn, “manufactured” certificates with a negative result of studies on COVID. The cost of one was from 300 hryvnia to 20 euros. References were offered to residents of Ukraine and foreigners.
Both attackers were informed of the suspicion by investigators. They confessed to the crime, cooperated with the investigation, which became a mitigating circumstance. Recently, the investigators sent criminal proceedings on the fact of forgery and sale of forged documents by the 28-year-old Equator to the court. Criminal proceedings against the 18-year-old suspect are under investigation.
