Cyberpolice exposed a resident of Kyiv region in the sale of fake medical records

The offender advertised on the Internet services for the manufacture of fake medical certificates. He produced fake documentation, in particular Covid certificates, on his own. The clients of the defendant did not undergo any medical examinations or procedures.

The illegal activities of a 34-year-old resident of the city of Irpin were exposed by employees of the department of combating cybercrime in the Kiev region.

It was established that the defendant created a website and channels in messengers, where he offered the production and sale of medical certificates of various forms, in particular international COVID certificates. The man produced fake documentation on his own with the help of printing equipment and medical holograms.

The clients of the certificates did not undergo any medical examinations or procedures, but only provided their data for the execution of fake documents. The cost of the certificate of “passing” the vocational examination started from 200 hryvnias, the fake Covid certificate cost 800 hryvnia. The man sent ready-made certificates to customers by mail.

With the involvement of criminal investigation officers, the police of the Kiev region conducted a search in the defendant's home. Computer equipment, printers, 24 mobile phones, bank cards, as well as more than 200 forms of medical certificates were seized. During the searches, police officers also found about a hundred ready-to-send forged certificates, including COVID certificates.

Criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years in prison.
