Igor Klymenko: Police officers clearly comply with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the observance of quarantine restrictions by citizens
During the war, more than 13,000 people died, and more than 70,000 people died from COVID-19. So the goal of the National Police is to help doctors achieve collective safety and immunity during the pandemic. This was discussed on November 8 on the air of the program “Freedom of Speech”.
According to the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, every day during inspections carried out by law enforcement officers, disputes or controversial issues arise:
“Sometimes people start to aggress against the legal demands of a police officer. We try to respond tolerantly. We started everything with prevention and explanations of why inspections are carried out and what powers we have. However, individual citizens want to express their own point of view, which, as a rule, overlaps the general problem of the state.”
Igor Klymenko stressed that more than 13,000 people died during the war, while more than 70,000 people died from COVID infection.
“The goal of the National Police, and we explain it to people, is to help doctors achieve collective safety and immunity,” the head of the department emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police”, police officers must prevent both criminal crimes and administrative offenses.
“There is a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which gives the right to police officers to check COVID certificates and compliance with quarantine regimes. There is Article 117 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which states that decisions, orders and resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers are mandatory for execution. So we clearly implement the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and explain these norms to citizens.”
