This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ekaterina Pavlichenko today, September 21, during a visit to the children's hospital “Okhmatdyt”. The deputy minister and other high-ranking officials spoke with the patient of the medical institution Dmitry, who recently underwent the necessary operation.

“The direction of the aeromedical system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is one of the key and priority. We plan to improve and scale this system. Currently, an experimental project on the aeromedical evacuation of the victims and transportation of anatomical materials within the framework of the Unified Aeromedical Space with the involvement of the aircraft of the State Emergency Service and NPU is underway. Today's event is a striking indicator of the coordinated work of the Aviation System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the children's hospital “Okhmatdyt”, which is aimed at saving lives,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

It is worth noting that Ukrainian doctors have already carried out 10 successful transplants for small patients. The Deputy Minister stressed that the joint work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the hospital “Okhmatdyt” continues, and the aviators of the Unified Aviation System are ready to come to the rescue at any moment.

Recall that in April 2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Children's Hospital “Okhmatdyt”. The document provides for the implementation of best practices and international standards of treatment. Including for the treatment of children of police officers, national guards, rescuers, and workers who were injured during the period of the ATO. In case of emergency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide assistance in the organization of sanitary aviation. Also, specialists of the ministry will voluntarily become blood donors for small patients.
