A meeting of the Council of the Association of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was held under the chairmanship of the head of the organization — adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, General of the Internal Service Vasyl Durdynets. The meeting was attended by members of the Presidium of the Association Council, heads of regional organizations, as well as heads of all-Ukrainian veteran organizations of the National Police, National Guard, the State Emergency Service and the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

The participants listened to the report of the Association leadership on the activities of the organization in the first 100 days after the VI report-election conference, which took place on December 28, 2023.

“There is a need to hear the report on the implementation of the key decisions of our conference, as well as the implementation of the guidelines and recommendations of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Vladimirovich Klymenko,” said the Chairman of the Association Vasily Durdinets.

First Deputy Chairman of the Association of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Karlov noted that during this time the Work Plan for the year was approved, the Charter of the organization was updated (the relevant changes were registered with the Ministry of Justice) and 6 specialized commissions of the Presidium of the Association Council were created in the areas.

“One of the main directions is the support and rehabilitation of our defending heroes,” he said.

According to him, for this purpose, the leadership of the Association established systematic cooperation with medical institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and assigned the same task to the heads of regional organizations — to establish effective interaction with the medical institutions of the system in their regions.

He recalled the words of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko, who, addressing the veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, stressed that in order to protect Ukraine, all generations of Ukrainians should demonstrate unity.

Among other things, it is about providing the wounded in hospitals with everything necessary, about the scholarships of the Association for orphans who study at the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as for excellent cadets.

In addition, the speaker noted, the regional organizations of the Association collect funds and everything necessary for the needs of units of the National Guard, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which perform tasks in the combat zone.

Vasyl Durdinets introduced the participants to the experience of cooperation of territorial units of the National Police with regional organizations of the Association in the frontline areas, where both elderly members of the Association and ordinary citizens who are under constant enemy shelling need help.

The Association of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine actively communicates in the public space — a Facebook page has been created, and the official website of the organization will soon start working.

Currently, the Association of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine unites 601 local organizations and about 107 thousand members in all regions of Ukraine. 2186 members of the organization participate in hostilities, of which 126 are wounded, 130 are dead, 25 are missing.

The leadership of the Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine expressed sincere gratitude to the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko and the State Secretary of the Ministry Inni Yashchuk for their comprehensive support and promotion of the Association's work.
