A brother is a person in whom you are sure, who will cover even at the cost of his life!, - the border guard under the pseudonym S.W.A.T.
Since childhood, Andrei dreamed of being a military man, like his father, a border guard. Therefore, after graduating from the National Academy of DPSU, he decided to join the Brigade of the Guard of the Offensive “Steel Border”.
The officer performed combat tasks in Kharkiv region, Donetsk region. Due to his leadership qualities, despite his young age, he was appointed to lead the unit. With more experienced fighters, he always consulted, listened, brotherly supported the younger ones.
“A brother is a person who will be side by side with you, a person whom you will cover, without even regretting his life, and who will cover you, and will provide first aid even when it is very difficult,” Andriy is sure.
It is at the forefront that we have to test this philosophy of life in practice. In the summer in Kharkiv region, near Izyum, S.W.A.T. and his subordinates performed a combat mission.
“We were attacked from both sides, drones flew, fired from artillery, from RPGs, from SPG-9, from “Vasilkov” mortars. The shells were flying lower and lower overhead,” recalls S.W.A.T.
Two shells ruptured in a trench where a border officer was stationed. There was blood pouring from his ears, it was painful, he screamed and, despite everything, he managed to pull himself together. All the fighters of his group were wounded and contusions.
S.W.A.T. was doing everything possible — providing first aid, looking for medics, trying to transfer to a safer place... Unfortunately, the injuries of the two servicemen turned out to be incompatible with life. The burden of what he did not save and did not save lay on the heart of Andrew with a stone...
However, at that moment it was necessary to think about the rest of the group, to withdraw together to the evacuation point and carry the seriously injured. The departure of the guys was covered by a pseudo machine gunner Shpak, who decided to stay in position. He, despite being wounded, held off the advance of the overwhelming enemy forces for 6 hours.
Through the forests, due to mines and shell splintered trees, border guards made their way through the shelling with a wounded comrade to reach their location. S.W.A.T. was very concerned about the fate of the machine-gunner who remained to cover them, afraid that he remained on the battlefield forever. But Shpak fired the ammunition and was able to get out of the encirclement.
After treatment and rehabilitation, S.W.A.T. is back in shape and proud of his brethren.
