The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine awarded 8 children within the framework of the patriotic action “Children Heroes”. The purpose of the action is to celebrate children who showed themselves during the war, help the Ukrainian army or suffered from the aggression of the Russian invaders.

Eight winners - eight incredible stories. One of them is about a brave 16-year-old boy from Kiev region - Valentyn Chorny, who could not sit at home when Russian troops launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Around 5 in the morning, when powerful explosions from Russian missiles were heard in various settlements of Ukraine, Valentine no longer slept. The guy immediately began to think about what to do and how to help him.

Since childhood, Valentine dreamed of becoming a military man, but at the beginning of the invasion he was only finishing his studies in the 11th grade. However, hiding at home is not about him.

The schoolboy decided to join the help of border guards who were near his house in the Kiev region. Already on February 25, Valentin Chorny, together with the military, dug trenches.

Together with the border guards, the guy spent 168 days, until he began training at school. Then the guy had to return to the desk, but he did not give up the dream of being a defender of Ukraine.

Now Valentyn Chorny is preparing to enter, so we wish the young man that there are no obstacles on the way to the dream.

We are proud of our Ukrainian children! The stories of the winners of the charity action “Children Heroes” will be published every Sunday on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
