Kharkiv: Police opened criminal proceedings on the fact of threatening a journalist
On the night of July 17-18, unknown people threw three bottles of flammable liquid into the courtyard of his household in the village of Cirkuny.
A 35-year-old representative of the news agency addressed the police with a corresponding statement to the police on July 18 at 11:38am. An investigative and operational team was traveling to the address. Police officers inspected the scene and seized physical evidence.
The investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Kharkiv Regional Police Department No. 2 entered the information on this fact in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 1 of Art. 345-1 (threat or violence against a journalist) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under the sanction of the article provides for up to 3 years in prison.
Currently, police are taking measures to identify persons involved in the commission of a crime and to detain them.
