The National Police of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Resources, the Ministry of Health and other law enforcement agencies, is systematically working to identify and stop illegal activities of persons who produce and sell fake vaccination certificates and certificates of passing COVID-19 testing.

The head of the National Police of Ukraine announced this today, October 18, during a working meeting.

Recall that at present almost all regions of the state are in the “red” and “orange” danger zones. Accordingly, there are strengthened quarantine restrictions, which must be observed by all citizens. Exceptions are only for those individuals who are vaccinated or have a valid negative PCR test result for coronavirus disease.

“As vaccinated and tested citizens have certain privileges during quarantine, there is a demand for fake COVID documents. Unfortunately, not everyone understands the importance of vaccination and the formation of collective immunity. Finally, in order to rule out any abuse, the police track and document all facts of the provision of medical falsification services related to COVID-19. In particular, last week alone, we conducted 35 searches. Illegal activities of three doctors in Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy regions and Kyiv are documented. In addition, more than 70 international vaccination certificates and more than 100 PCR tests were withdrawn, as well as blocked two telegram channels through which orders were made,” Igor Klymenko said.

Also, over the past week, investigators and investigators of the National Police started almost 90 criminal proceedings on the facts of falsification of PCR tests and COVID-19 vaccination certificates. Of these, more than 70 facts were discovered by employees of the State Border Service during the verification of documents when crossing the state border.

In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 730 proceedings have been opened on similar facts. The largest number is in Volyn (207), Kiev (98), Rivne and Lviv (75) regions.

“In general, in 50% of the criminal proceedings initiated, persons received reports of suspicion. In total, 77 indictments for the commission of almost 300 criminal offenses have been sent to the court since the beginning of the year. And today, the courts of first instance over the past month have issued more than 10 indictments on the facts of the purchase and use of fake COVID certificates, in particular when crossing the state border. Guilty persons are punished in the form of fines. I remind you that both those who falsify documents and those who use them will be criminally responsible,” the head of the National Police summed up.
