Over the past week, the police launched more than 80 criminal proceedings on the facts of counterfeiting COVID documents
The National Police of Ukraine, in cooperation with other competent authorities, is systematically working to identify and document schemes of counterfeit COVID tests and vaccination certificates.
Over the past week, police conducted 20 searches as part of an investigation into detected cases of fake COVID documents. More than 150 international vaccination certificates and PCR test certificates were seized, as well as 300 blank medical laboratory forms.
In total, during the past week, investigators and investigators of the National Police launched more than 80 criminal proceedings on the facts of falsifying the results of PCR tests and COVID-19 vaccination certificates. Of these, 65 facts were discovered by employees of the State Border Service during the verification of documents when crossing the state border.
In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 800 proceedings have been opened on similar facts. The largest number is in Volyn (212), Kyiv (124) and Transcarpathia (85). In 50% of the initiated criminal proceedings, persons received a report of suspicion.
In total, 95 indictments for the commission of more than 300 criminal offenses have been sent to the court since the beginning of the year.
At the same time, the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for liability for the use of forged COVID documentation. In the investigation units of the National Police, 359 such criminal proceedings were registered, of which 57 indictments were referred to the court.
