Produced and sold up to 10 kg of amphetamine every month - National Police exposed drug gangs
The criminal group operated on the territory of the Kiev region and consisted of six local residents. The attackers manufactured amphetamine in their own drug lab, which they sold during in-person meetings and through bookmarks. During the searches, prohibited substances were seized from the defendants, the estimated value of which exceeds 5 million hryvnias.
Organized illegal activities by a 36-year-old resident of the city. Irpin. He involved four more local residents between the ages of 31 and 58 and his 38-year-old brother, who possessed the necessary knowledge to synthesize psychotropic substances, in illegal activities.
“Laborant” equipped at his place of residence an underground drug laboratory, the capacity of which allowed to produce up to 10 kg of amphetamine every month. The manufactured psychotropic was passed on by the attackers to sellers, who packaged it into doses. They distributed amphetamine on the territory of the Irpin district through “bookmarks” or during personal meetings. The organizer himself was engaged in the supply of precursors necessary for the activities of the laboratory. He also distributed funds among all members of the group, and the 58-year-old mother of one of the defendants was engaged in their procurement.
Yesterday, December 20, operatives of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes together with SBU employees, investigators of the Svyatoshyn Police Department and with the support of the special forces of TOR, KORD and PPOP conducted searches at the location of the laboratory and in the houses and cars of the defendants. In total, during the investigative actions, 10 kg of cannabis, 7 kg of amphetamine, laboratory equipment, precursors, weapons, cartridges, electronic scales, packaging equipment and “draft” records were seized. The cost of seized prohibited substances at “black” market prices exceeds UAH 5 million.
Five members of the group were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. At the moment, investigators are preparing a report of suspicion for them under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Procedural decisions regarding another member of the group and additional legal qualification of the actions of the attackers will be made after the receipt of the conclusions of the expert study. The issue of imposing a seizure on the property of the defendants is also being resolved.
For what has been committed, offenders may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years with confiscation of property.
