A group of residents of Zhytomyr region organized a scheme for the sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances on the territory of the region. By the joint actions of the internal security officers of the National Police, the police and the prosecutor's office of the region, the conspirators were detained and placed in a temporary detention center.

A group of persons involved in the manufacture and distribution of drugs, in particular the psychotropic substance amphetamine, came into the field of view of the employees of the Zhytomyr Department of Internal Security of the NPU.

The group consisted of local residents, aged 26 to 32 years. They received the precursors through the post offices, and laboratories for the preparation of the drug product were set up at their place of residence and in the garage room. Finished products were sold in wholesale and retail lots.

A version was considered about the “crumbling” of the activities of intruders by police officers, but during the verification this fact was not confirmed.

According to the internal security materials of the NPU, the investigators of the Zhytomyr police, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers conducted prompt purchases of goods and sanctioned searches. During the events, amphetamine, precursors, special equipment, electronic scales, “rough” records, money, bank cards, mobile phones were found and seized from the defendants.

Currently, four members of the drug group have been detained in procedural order and placed in temporary detention. Investigators of the Zhytomyr police informed them of the suspicion. For criminal dealings with drugs, offenders may be threatened with imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
