Police detained three people and seized substances similar to amphetamine, cannabis, ecstasy and LSD pills, as well as drug-making equipment. For the crimes committed, offenders face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

During the implementation of operational information, the investigators of the Desnyana Police Department, with the prompt support of the officers of the Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU, exposed three men in the sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the territory of Kyiv. The defendants were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Dmytro Linnyk, the investigator of the Desnyansk police department, noted that the natives of Poltava region, born in 1987, 1988 and 1990, established a drug supply channel to the capital:

“During sanctioned searches in the cars of offenders and garage premises, substances similar to narcotics were found and seized, namely one and a half kilograms of amphetamine, a kilogram of cannabis, 100 ecstasy pills and LSD. In addition, from the house located on the territory of one of the villages of the Poltava region, we seized specialized equipment that was used for the production of drugs. All those seized were sent for appropriate examinations.”

According to this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 3 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a period of 9 to 12 years with confiscation of property. Investigators under the procedural guidance of the Desnyansk District Prosecutor's Office informed the detainees about the suspicion of committing a crime, and the court chose preventive measures for them in the form of round-the-clock house arrest. Police identify other persons involved in drug crimes in order to bring them to justice.
