In Kyiv, police detained a drug dealer and seized cocaine worth 400 thousand hryvnias
Drugs were stored by the attacker in a rented garage. It has already been established that the defendant was an “employee” of the Internet shop through which drugs were sold. He received payment for his work using cryptocurrency.
Operatives of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes in Kyiv city of the Department for Combating Narcotics of the National Police, together with the investigators of the Svyatoshyn Police Department, exposed the illegal activities of a 20-year-old Kyiv resident.
Law enforcement officers found out that the man works as a “courier” in an online store selling drugs and is engaged in sending drugs through post offices. He received instructions on the number and volume of orders from the so-called “curator”, with whom he communicated exclusively through the messenger.
The dealer, trying to protect himself from exposure, rented a garage in the capital, which he used as a warehouse. He received his “salary” with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, which he then cashed in at currency exchange points.
As a result of searches, law enforcement officers seized packaged cocaine from the attacker, the cost of which at the prices of the “black” market is more than 400 thousand hryvnias.
The defendant was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. According to this fact, criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 309 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Based on the results of the examination, the issue of reclassification of the crime under Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
