They “traded” COVID vaccination certificates — Khmelnytsky police officers exposed the doctor and his accomplice
For a monetary reward, the doctor through an intermediary guaranteed citizens to receive a certificate without actual vaccination.
Today, October 26, operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Khmelnytsky region of the National Police and investigators of the investigative department of the regional police detained the intermediary after transferring illegal benefits to the employee of the medical institution.
The traumatologist of one of the hospitals in the region received through an intermediary 5,000 hryvnia of illegal benefits. For this amount, he guaranteed the citizen a “linden” vaccination against COVID-19, the entry of data into the appropriate database and the receipt of a certificate of vaccination. Measures to document the corruption “scheme” of obtaining certificates were carried out under the supervision of police officers. At the place of work of the medical worker, in addition to the amount of the bribe, law enforcement officers seized 12 thousand dollars, the origin of which is established.
Investigative actions are currently underway. The issue of notifying the doctor and mediator about the suspicion and choosing precautions for them is resolved.
Investigations in criminal proceedings are carried out under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the procedural guidance is carried out by the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor's Office. In the course of the investigation, the police will establish the involvement of offenders in the commission of such crimes, as well as persons who could have applied to them for such a service.
For the acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official, the current legislation provides for liability - imprisonment for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
