Creation of a criminal organization and drug traffic to the colony - in Dnipropetrovsk region the police exposed the “sleeper”
Four of the most active participants were detained. “Authority” and his accomplices were informed of the suspicions and taken into custody. Offenders can face up to 12 years in prison.
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Dnipropetrovsk region, together with the investigators of the regional police, exposed a criminal organization whose participants established drug traffic to one of the correctional institutions of the region.
Law enforcement officers installed an organizer, this is a “looker” behind one of the branches of the colony, and his accomplices - former convicts, prisoners and an ex-law enforcement officer. Roles were clearly distributed between them: manufacture and packaging of methadone, delivery of “goods” to persons who ensured that packages reached the colony through “transfers”, distribution of drugs among the dependents of the special institution.
On September 16, operatives, investigators supported by KORD and a special purpose police regiment conducted a series of searches in the colony and the places of residence of the defendants. Drugs were seized, the total cost of which at “black market” prices reaches 350 thousand UAH, equipment for their manufacture, 20 thousand UAH and 2000 dollars. THE UNITED STATES.
In addition, four members of the criminal organization were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The organizer and his three accomplices were informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 255 (creation of a criminal organization) and Part 3 of Art. 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Suspects have chosen preventive measures in the form of detention. Further investigative actions are being carried out to bring all participants to justice.
The procedural guidance in the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office. Activities to expose the activities of the criminal organization were carried out with the participation of employees of the operational department of the correctional institution and the regional department of the State Criminal Enforcement Service.
