The capital's law enforcement officers detained a man who organized the sale of fake COVID certificates
For 250 euros and with the help of health workers, the attacker entered the information about the implementation of the vaccination into the database of the electronic health system, and then issued a document to travel abroad. He faces up to six years in prison.
During the processing of operational information, the employees of the Migration Police Department together with the investigators of the Darnytsky Police Department under the procedural guidance of the district prosecutor's office exposed the illegal activities of a group of persons who manufactured and sold fake COVID certificates. These are three local residents, born 1946, 1976 and 1998.
According to the head of the migration police of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the city of Kiev Denis Demjanjuk, during the sale of the vaccination certificate, the police were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine organizer, he turned out to be a 23-year-old Kiev resident who was not previously convicted:
“We found out that he found customers through social networks and offered to buy an international Covid certificate without going through the vaccination procedure. He valued this “service” at 250 euros. He was helped by a family doctor and a nurse of the capital hospital, who entered false information into the database of the electronic health system and issued Covid certificates. In this way, this document was displayed in the mobile application, which made it possible to travel abroad.”
As a result of searches at the place of work of the employees of the medical institution and the car of the detained, law enforcement officers seized physical evidence. These are drafts, money, telephone, stamps, forms of certificates and other documentation confirming the illegal activities of accomplices.
“Criminal proceedings have been initiated under part three of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps and part two of Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - unauthorized interference in the work of electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks. Under the procedural guidance of the district prosecutor's office, law enforcement officers informed the organizer about the suspicion of committing crimes, and the court chose a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest. The man faces up to six years in prison. Regarding the activities of medical workers, the issue of bringing them to criminal responsibility is now being decided,” the police colonel said.
