“Smotryashcho” in the correctional colony in Zhytomyr region was informed of suspicion: distribution of criminal influence, production and sale of drugs
The defendant has the status of a so-called “spectator” in one of the areas of the correctional colony. He organized a channel for the supply of drugs to the correctional institution, involving other convicts in illegal activities. In addition, he had authority among the dependents of the institution, urged them to violate the rules of serving sentences and adhere to thieving traditions.
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Zhytomyr region documented the spread of criminal influence by the attacker on the territory of the correctional colony.
On the basis of the evidence received on July 15, investigators of the Korosten District Police Department under the procedural leadership of the Korosten District Prosecutor's Office informed the “inspector” about the suspicion. He is charged with committing criminal offenses provided for by several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of Art. 255-1 (establishment and dissemination of criminal influence in the institution serving sentences);
- Part 2 of Article 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues);
- Part 3 of Article 321 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, transportation, shipment, storage for the purpose of marketing or marketing poisonous or potent substances or poisonous or potent drugs).
- Part 1 of Art. 309 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale).
The events were carried out in interaction with the operational unit of the correctional colony. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. The issue of notifying other participants of the illegal supply of drugs to the correctional colony is resolved.
