Investigators sent to court indictments against a group of persons engaged in drug crimes and trafficking in human beings in the territory of three countries
Members of the criminal organization received millions in profits from illegal activities. 11 people will appear before the Obolonsky District Court.
Recall that in April 2019, law enforcement officers exposed illegal activities and detained a criminal group, which consisted of 11 people. The offenders clearly allocated roles, starting with the manufacture, supply, advertising and “bookmarking” of narcotic substances.
Detectives of the Kyiv Police together with the employees of the Department for Combating Crimes Related to Trafficking in Persons of the National Police of Ukraine and Kyiv Police officers together with the Kyiv City Department of Internal Security of the NPU under the procedural guidance of the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office simultaneously conducted more than 50 sanctioned searches cities in the territory of Khmelnytsky, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Kiev regions and the city. Kiev.
According to the chief of police of Kyiv Andriy Kryshchenko, as a result of the measures, the activities of four drug laboratories were suspended, the precursors, the narcotic substance were seized and the activity of two online stores through which the sale of drugs was carried out was suspended:
“The attackers recruited Ukrainians to work in drug laboratories located on the territory of the Russian Federation. The organizers marketed drugs on the territory of Kyiv region, as well as supplied psychotropic and narcotic substances to Moldova. During the pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings, 33 episodes of criminal activity of the defendants were documented”.
Currently, the defendants have been informed of suspicions of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 1 of Art. 255 (Creation of a criminal organization), part 3 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues), part 3 of Art. 311 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of precursors), part 2 of Art. 317 (Organization or maintenance of places for the illegal use, production or manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues), part 2 of Art. 149 (Trafficking in Persons),, Part 2 of Art. 309 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The materials of criminal proceedings with indictments are directed to the Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv, which will determine the punishment for each of the members of the group.
