The results of the work of the checkpoints: since the beginning of the year, the police have stopped more than 1700 offenses
Thanks to the control at checkpoints, namely blocking the traffic of weapons and drugs and the detention of criminals who are wanted, many tragedies can be prevented.
In the security system during the operation of the OS, checkpoints have a preventive function: to prevent crimes, to “filter” possible threats.
In five months, police officers serving at the facilities documented 1,733 offenses. Pretrial investigations were initiated for 158 of them.
According to statistics, every tenth offense detected at checkpoints is drug traffic. Police stopped 170 shipments of narcotic substances that did not reach consumers.
Law enforcement officers also stopped 94 incidents of arms and ammunition circulation. Detecting illegal “luggage” to the police is helped by four-legged assistants who find caches with prohibited things in a few minutes.
As a result of the checks, 135 people were found who were wanted for committing crimes and hiding from court and investigation. In addition, the police returned eight missing people to their families.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 26 thousand trucks, more than 1 million 148 thousand cars and more than 2 million 139 thousand citizens have passed through checkpoints in Donetsk region.
We inform you that during the holidays, during the celebration of Constitution Day, law enforcement officers at checkpoints will work in an enhanced mode to ensure public security and quick transit of transport.
