Law enforcement officers suspect two officials of misappropriation of enterprise property worth more than 160 million hryvnias
The attackers sold the real estate of the capital joint-stock company on economically unfavorable terms. The amount of damage caused to the company is 162 million hryvnias.
The investigators of the Corruption Crime Investigation Department of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police established that the head and chairman of the supervisory board of the joint-stock company in the city of Kiev carried out the alienation of real estate on economically unfavorable conditions for the enterprise, knowing in advance that the funds for the property would not be paid. The sale of real estate was carried out in favor of a controlled legal entity. The amount of damage caused to the company is 162 million hryvnias.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was carried out under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General and the prompt support of the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police.
Currently, the defendants have been informed of the suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
At the same time, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for suspects in the form of detention is being resolved.
