Law enforcement officers of Odessa region have exposed a group of persons who committed a robbery attack on the house of a sailor entrepreneur from Izmail
Three attackers were declared under Part 3 of Art. 187 and Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for suspects in the form of detention is being resolved.
Offenders came to the household of the Izmail, when only his wife and little daughter were at home. They penetrated the house unhindered, watching when the hostess would go out into the yard. The attackers beat the young woman, took her savings in the amount of about eight thousand dollars and four thousand hryvnias, a bank card with about thirty thousand hryvnias on her account, gold jewelry, mobile phones, etc. and left.
In the course of operational-search measures, which were carried out by the officers of the criminal police sector and the investigative department of the Izmail RVP and the Criminal Investigation Department of the GUNP in the Odessa region, as part of the criminal proceedings initiated after the robbery, it was found that the crime was committed by four men aged from 37 to 49 years old: one is a resident of Izmail, the other three are from Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, who are currently being prosecuted by the capital's law enforcement officers for robbery and banditry.
With the involvement of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine and employees of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky RVP, with the strong support of the special purpose police battalion and the special unit “KORD” of the Odessa police, law enforcement officers conducted a number of searches at the addresses of the accused, during which they seized the belongings of the victims weapons, drugs, and other physical evidence indicating their criminal activities.
According to the results of the searches, additional information was entered into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations on the facts of illegal storage of narcotic substances, illegal handling of weapons and ammunition, as well as illegal processing of weapons.
Three offenders were immediately detained in procedural order. At present, further search activities are being carried out aimed at establishing the location of the fourth accomplice of the crime and his subsequent detention. In accordance with the current legislation, defendants face up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property.
