Law enforcers eliminate the channel of international drug traffic from Latin America
The attackers intended to organize a drug supply channel to Ukraine through the international airport “Boryspil”.
A joint interdepartmental group consisting of border guards of the Main Operational and Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine “Kyiv”, employees of the SBU, customs officers and under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office at the airport “Boryspil” suspended the drug supply channel organized by the participants of the international criminal group drinking.
In total, law enforcement officers found cocaine with a total weight of 2 kg. One of the attackers moved drugs in personal belongings. Another tried to transport more than 1 kg of cocaine in the gastrointestinal tract across the state border.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 305 “Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit medicines” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, detained foreigners are reported on suspicion. Both drug couriers are foreign nationals.
Investigative actions are underway to establish the involvement of other persons in the offense.
