Spread of criminal influence and organization of drug traffic to Lviv detention center — police reported suspicion to the so-called “spy”
The “Criminal Authority” coordinated the members of the group, with its approval, the purchase of drugs “at large” took place and their transfer to the institution for further sale to prisoners was carried out. Among his accomplices are detainees of the detention center and local residents.
In September 2021, the operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Lviv Oblast and the investigators of the Regional Police Department exposed the activities of the criminal group, which was organized by a repeatedly convicted Lviv resident. He was arrested for murder and was in a detention center during the investigation, received the status of a so-called “spy” behind one of the buildings and established drug trafficking. In accomplices, he attracted inmates of the detention center and local residents, some of whom already had problems with the law for drug crimes. For the most part, the attackers handed over “packages” during the referral of the arrested to the courts.
Yesterday, November 23, on the basis of the evidence received during the investigation, the so-called “spotter” was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 255-1 (establishment or dissemination of criminal influence) and Part 2 of Art. 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Earlier, in September, the suspicion was reported to three members of the criminal group — under Part 2 and Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For the spread of criminal influence, the current legislation provides for liability — from nine to fifteen years imprisonment. And for crimes related to illegal drug trafficking — from nine to twelve years with confiscation of property.
Documentation of illegal activities of the organized criminal group was carried out with the assistance of employees of the department of operational and investigative work of the Lviv Prison Service. The procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
