Kiev police blocked the channel of supply and sale of cocaine from abroad to the capital
Monthly “profit” from drug business amounted to about UAH 2,000,000. During the sanctioned searches, more than one kilogram of the packaged drug was seized from the defendants. From now on, five offenders face up to 12 years in prison.
Employees of the Shevchenko Police Department under the procedural leadership of the district prosecutor's office and with the strong support of the soldiers of the special police regiment No. 1 blocked the cocaine supply channel from abroad to the territory of the city of Kiev.
According to the head of the police department No. 2 of the Shevchenko Police Department Oleksandr Dybov, at the prices of the “black market” the value of the seized is 4 000 000 UAH:
“We found out that the drug supplier is a 27-year-old native of Transcarpathia, who has lived abroad for the past three years, from where he sent cocaine to Ukraine. In addition, the criminal group included the organizer, his roommate and two salesmen. The resulting “goods” were sold by the attackers in different areas of the capital. We conducted eight sanctioned and three urgent searches of persons involved in the sale of cocaine in the city of Kyiv. In the course of investigative actions, more than 1 kilogram of packaged cocaine prepared for sale, 20,000 hryvnias, 10,000 dollars, mobile phones, bank cards, draft records were found and seized from the premises and in the cars of the detainees.”
The supplier and four drug dealers were detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They were residents of the capital, 1985, 1994 and 1997 years of birth and a native of Dnipropetrovsk region, 1979 year of birth.
According to this fact, the investigative department of the Shevchenko police department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues). Under the procedural guidance of the Shevchenko District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kiev, investigators announced the suspect to be detained. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings, investigative and operational actions continue to establish all the circumstances of the offense and bring to justice other persons involved in the crime.
