Transcarpathian police detained the organizer of a laboratory with drug products for 5 million hryvnias

Police officers of Transcarpathia during a court-sanctioned search found two underground drug parlors with elite cannabis. On the black market, the final products would cost five million hryvnias. The attacker was detained and placed in a temporary detention center.

Yesterday, September 29, investigators of the Main Directorate of the Transcarpathian Police, together with the operatives of the Office for the Fight against Drug Crime, with the strong support of the fighters of the Special Police Company, conducted a search in one of the border villages of Transcarpathia, near Vinogadov. 48-year-old owner of the territory on which it was conducted investigative actions, is a defendant in a drug crime.

Police searched the farm with numerous greenhouses, but at first found only a few stalks of hemp.

However, after carefully examining the territory, law enforcement officers found a hatch to a secret storage, which was located in the room where domestic animals were kept. It turned out that underground the intruder dug and equipped two rooms equipped with all the technological requirements for growing hemp. In particular, the premises were equipped with a drip irrigation system, air conditioners and hoods, devices that enriched the greenhouse with oxygen, sensors for measuring the level of light, heat and moisture, and even devices that measured the acidity of the soil.

In total, law enforcement officers removed 684 stalks of hemp from the cache. All plants of elite variety that have been grown as correctly as possible to obtain from them as much narcotic effect as possible. On the black market, the cost of production from these plants would be at least 5 million hryvnias. In addition, during the special operation, 300 grams of an already dried narcotic substance, seeds for future harvests and a gun were seized.

The organizer of the drug plantation was detained by investigators in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention center. All material evidence collected is referred for examination.

Police officers, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, prepare materials for notifying the attacker of suspicion of a crime stipulated in Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. illegal sowing or growing of cannabis plants in the amount of more than 50 plants. For such actions, the attacker faces up to seven years in prison.
