Police of Kharkiv region informed a deputy of one of the political parties about suspicion of hindering journalistic activity
During the plenary session of the 8th convocation of the Izyum City Council, a 40-year-old man snatched the mobile phone of the journalist, with which the session was videotaped, and threw it on the table.
On March 4, the director of the radio company addressed the Izyum district police department with a corresponding statement.
The employees of the Department for the Protection of Public Interests and the State of the National Police of Ukraine together with the investigation sector of the Izyum RUP exposed the illegal activity.
According to this fact, criminal proceedings were opened on the grounds of a criminal offense - a criminal offense, provided for in Part 1 of Art. 171 (obstruction of legal professional activity of journalists) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation established that on February 24, the director of the Izyum Radio Company performed an editorial task to cover the activities of the Izyum City Council.
At 15:14, while in the room of the session hall of the Izyum City Council, the deputy approached the journalist and snatched the mobile phone from her hands, with which she recorded the events of the session, and then threw it on the table.
On August 31, the deputy of the political party was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The maximum punishment under the sanction of the article provides for up to 3 years of restriction of liberty.
