Police officers have exposed officials in the illegal transfer of 10 hectares of land to the forest fund

Forest land in Kyiv region was transferred to private property to individuals for the construction of residential buildings and outbuildings. Village council officials face up to six years in prison.

Investigators of the Corruption Crimes Investigation Department of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine, with the prompt support of the employees of the Department for the Protection of Public and State Interests of the National Police and the procedural leadership of the Office of the Prosecutor General, exposed the illegal transfer of forest fund land into private property to individuals.

During the pre-trial investigation, the police found that in 2020, officials of one of the village councils of the Kiev region, abusing their official position, facilitated the transfer of 10 hectares of forest land to individuals. The allotted land of the forest fund was intended for the construction of a residential building, outbuildings and structures.

According to legal regulations, forestry land cannot be transferred to private ownership.

Today, March 25, law enforcement officers conducted a number of sanctioned searches in Kyiv and Kyiv region. As a result, the documentation on the transfer of land into private ownership was removed.

Pre-trial investigation is carried out under Part 2 of Art. 364 (Abuse of power or official position), Part 2 of Art. 366 (Forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For illegal transactions, the defendants face up to six years in prison.
